The brothers were amazed and excited – the cacao in this magical bar came from the Guayaquil region, the largest city in Ecuador. Despite knowing Ecuador’s history in cacao production, they had never been aware that Ecuador’s cacao was the world’s greatest.
In that moment República del Cacao was born – with one mission: to locally produce the most authentic Latin American chocolate, by protecting sustainable fine cacao production.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength, launching our consumer range in 2007 and our professional range in 2014. We are now distributed globally and are honoured to be used by some of the world’s best chefs.
Our unique equatorial climate and rich, varied biodiversity provides the perfect conditions for growing cacao and we are proud to produce our chocolate entirely in Latin America, with natural local ingredients.
